We have a nice thread going on shooting modes, how about one for metering modes??? I like evaluative metering the best. It is usually correct for my shooting style.

Evaluative when on Av or P, partial on M.

Mostly Eval. Anything else is dictated by the situation.

Evaluative when on Av or P, partial on M.
Just asking, why Partial with M mode??? Thanks

That way I know what I'm metering / correcting to, while it's less 'fussy' then spotmetering.

Always partial, M about half the time, Av or Tv for most of the rest except P with the flash.

Mostly evaluative. Sometimes center weighted, partial or spot as the situation dictates.

For nature photography (birds mostly) I prefer spot metering and use CF-13 to link spot metering to the active AF point.
I use Evaluative Metering for most everything else and sometimes for nature.
If subject is brightly back lit I sometimes use Partial Metering if I think about it.

Evaluative all the time. I can usually tell when it's going to be off and a little +/- compensation fixes that.

Evaluative for me, it's nearly always right. If the lighting situation is tricky, then I use the histogram and dial in some compensation
