I was watching this kid play and after asking his parents permission grabbed a couple of quick pics. When I got done I found this one. I LOVE the picture, but know it isn't great exposure ect. Right now it has only been cropped and scaled in GIMP.

I am just starting to learn about post-processing and am hoping someone can provide some tips about what could be done to make this shot the best it could be.

Any information, or direction will be appreciated.

Thank you.

I applied some noise reduction, levels adjustment, and sharpening. I'm not sure if it's any better. A flash would have helped this picture.

1. Make a duplicate layer
2. Cut out boy and rock ( do a better job than mine )
3. Use Image-Adjustments-Shadow/Highlights to lighten boy and rock
4. reverse selection and remove from top layer
5. select bottom layer and apply lens blur

Getting rid of the blue tone in the skin of his face and arm/hand area was a problem, what do you think?
