I took some rather nice pictures in and of Bavaria, but with it came some annoying mountain haze. Is there a program, plug-in etc. designed that addresses this problem or does anyone know of a tutorial link?
TIA

I came across this the other day:
http://www.lonestardigital.com/photoshop_quicktips.htm
Basically, the technique is apply USM with large radius:
low strength: 20%, 30, 4
hi strength: 20%, 60, 4
It certainly had an effect on some of my images, although much more noticeable in the near and middle distance than mountain haze. Let us know how it works.

Roger

Roger,
Thanks for the reply. It works as far as sharpness is concerned, but does little for the haze/fog. I had some success with contrast/brightness, but like to have it cleaner.

Check out the Retinex technology at http://dragon.larc.nasa.gov/retinex/pao/news/. There're a couple pictures that they reduced smoke and fog from them.
You can find the company that will market the program at http://www.truview.com/

Thi,
Thanks, I was looking for that company, having seen these pictures some time ago.
Thanks again

If you have Photoshop try the auto contrast. It can often improve haze drastically. somewhere I read about this and that it doesnt really just do a contrast change.
