i have read that the s50 can hold up to 3 min of video.
is this time a standard time? or by using a bigger (than the 32MB) cf card, we could increased the total video time?

The video is stored in an internal memory buffer. The camera does not stream to the card.

The 3 minute limit is the limit of the buffer size that can be used before the clip is saved to the card.

The larger the card, the more clips you can store, not larger clips.

Better check for what quality of movie the 3 minutes apply.

On the G2, you can film 2 minutes in 160*200 ...
... but only 30 in 320*200, which is definitely the minimum in acceptable quality.

The S50 has the same 3min limit in both modes.

what a pity for this excellent s-50!
the limit of 3 min is annoying but what could we do?
ill just have to live with it.
but ill try to buy a bigger cf card for more clips.
i dont know about the resolution but 1 clip i shot and replayed with media player in pc, was good enough, if we consider that this is a camera and not a video camera.
