Went to a local nature trail the other day and didn't see hardly any birds, on the way out I spotted this guy who was nice enough to strike a pose.:)

both of these are great but i think they both need a little more contrast and or saturation to help the colors pop out a bit...otherwise they are nice

Great shots ,but I agree with viewing the invisible.

I like them as they are, great shots. I know these guys can be very difficult to capture. I see them a lot, but always flying by.

Thanks Richard, I've been critiqued before for lack of contrast, not sure if its my monitor or just my taste. I do like a natural looking bird.:)

Thanks Dennis; go get em while they are around. Would love to get one flying from the back when the indigo colors stand out.:)

Thanks Stan, don't know why but sometimes a bird that usually spooks easily tolerates us. Maybe if their tummies are full and they need a belch or something.:)

Very nice Paul, both are good. Background in the first is a little distracting but the way you captured the bluebird more than makes up for it.

Very nice Paul...beautiful birds and great shots especially that first pose. If they were mine i would see how they look with a little more contrast.

Thanks Gary, I would greatly appreciate it if you would add contrast to your taste so that I could compare. I did PS it a bit before posting.:) :)

Here's a little different version. Just a couple adjustment layers, curves, contrast and a slight blur to the background. Had to resize to 800 X 752 and save at 65% quality.

Wow Zip, good job. I think it looks great, I will try to add more contrast on future pp.
Thanks for the time and effort I appreciate it.:) :)

Freaking amazing!

Both are excellent, Paul! I especially like the angle on #1.

Love the bokeh.
