Beachcamera have the 10D for 1329 while B&H have it for 1499.
Any one have previous experience with Beachcamera ?
I checked with www.resellerratings.com, and they seem to have an excellent reputation, on par with B&H.
The lenses look a bit expensive though, so i was thinking of buying the body from beachcamera and the lens from B&H.
any pointers ?

B&H is the best in my opinion. You can get about the same price from COMPUSA as Beach Camera. Look on their website. I can get a Canon from my local store for $389 plus tax and they have them on the shelf. Is Beach a Brooklyn store....those stores are renowned ripoff artists....Good luck
Canoga Camera in California has a low price and they are wonderful to deal with. That's who I would order one from if I didn't already have one....no tax!!!! they have a website...give em a try

I agree with cubfan that a lot of the Brooklyn stores are reknown rip off artists. I a buddy of mine is still out $500 on an EPSON camera he ordered a few years back. They sent him a bum unit first and when he sent it in for exchange, they stopped returning his calls and emails and never shipped him a replacement.
You know, sometimes it pays to drop the few extra bucks with a well know store. You have a place that will sell you an extended warranty, they understand the products they sell and you don't have to haggle to death over whose fault it was when your gear shows up broken. I paid the typical $1499 for my 10D at Ritz, paid the extra for the warranty but I know from my years of dealing with them that they stand by their sales and the customer is always right in their store. Even the box stores like best buy and circuit city give you a hard time when it comes to honorong their extended warranties.

You want to read this over and see if there are any errors?
The discussion was about a Canon 10D, and you think you can get one for $389 ... ? I don't think so.

I'll bet there is a '1' infront of the '389' that has decided it didn;t want to be here.... $1389 more reasonable?

www.buydig.com is a much better place to buy a 10D that Beach.
Checkout www.pricegrabber.com
Enter "Canon 10D" and look for the entry for Buydig. Click on the "Get a Better Price" link and you'll end up on their site with a $1389 price with free shipping.
I've bought from them several times with no problems.
While you're at pricegrabber's site check out the user feedback in the right column.
Best of Luck!

I'd like to point something out:
don't lose sight of what we are talking about here, the measly $110 difference amounts to only a 7.3% savings!
Hardly worth the anxiety (or possible future regret) of not having bought from a reputable dealer, maybe even a local one.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't have that kind of money either and $110 is still a lota dough. As for me, I'm prepared for the long wait (all the way to Xmas?;))for when Canon actually drops the price and we'll be talking about a 30% difference.
I am sure when you finally have your 10D and the MC bill is a faint memory, all you'll care about is the quality of your pictures and the response you get from the store you bought it from if (god forbid) there are any issues.

2 years ago I ordered a digital camera from Beach Camera. Since I needed it quick I went for the the 2nd Air or whatever FedEx was offering at 2 day service at the time. I was told no problem you'll have it in 2 days. After 3 days and no camera, I called Beach and they said that the camera was backordered. To keep this short, I cancelled the order and got a cancellation number . Received the camera 6 days later. I refused to accept it and it was returned to Beach. They kept the shipping charges and a 10% restocking fee. Records retrieved from FedEx showed it was picked up by them at Beach 2 days after I cancelled. My card holder services and some nudging from consumer affairs in NY got all the charges credited back on to my card.
Not at this establishment again.
