They all feel oversharpened.

I think you have done a very good job of capturing these pigeons. I don't see any halo effects from oversharpening. They look pretty good to me.

Thanks. NYC pidgeons do have to be the ugliest birds in existence. They have some personality though. They don't fly away until you're a few inches away from stepping on them, their heads bobble like nuts when they walk, they even edge onto the streets sometimes, and they love scraps (but what kind of birds don't love scraps?).

I find #8 to be the best looking bird if you will. He's fat and sleeping, what better combo?

Thanks Dennis. The reason I mentioned oversharpening was because I had to do some USM for each of them. A number of them came out blurry because I was actually shooting them through a fence with my lens in between the bars. I was also squatted which is why the shots seem pretty level with the birds' height. Those things really affected my steadiness.

Great job! Nice to see them without pedestrians about. I have seen a few post where someone shoots through a fence. Do you just put the lens through a crack?

I don't think that there over-sharpened at all just nice and sharp the way an image should be with tons of detail,,, well done

Thanks, these pidgeons were sectioned off with a fence so no pedestrians could come in direct contact with the birds. I was able to fit the lens in between the bars of the fence, though it took a bit of care as it was a tight fit.

Thanks. I just thought that I went a bit too far on the post-processing for sharpening. The exposure could've used some work though, just got lazy as I had over 350 pictures from that day.

Thanks, I got a lot of detail from the close distance I was able to achieve. 200mm isn't as much as I would've hoped though, but it really shines if you can get close.
