Heres a pic i took of the sunrise, its totally unedited except for the resising.
Does anyone know whats the red and green spots are? I reckon they downgrade the pic, how did i get them on there so i know how not to next time.

Any comments on the pic in general on how i could do it better next time?
The two main things for me are the edges where the Tele Lens just starts to vigennete, and the ovious red n green spots.
The sun is a bit off center but croping could fix it.

Welcome to the world of flare :)
This is a lens problem, when you point to (or near) the sun. Some lenses are more prone to flare than others. It has nothing to do with digital, it also happens in film cameras.

Lens flare is the culprit.
Light is reflecting off one of the glass surfaces withing the lens system.
Most modern lenses have one or more coatings on them which help eliminate these artifacts.
The only way to remove them is to avoid bright lights, or try different angles to see if the lens flare goes away.
In a shot like this, you can leave them in, (it's there but it does not invalidate the picture) Or you could try to eliminate them in using PhotoShop or some other grahics program (just edit a copy, not the original photo so you can can always go back.)

Its pretty hard to get a different abgle from the sun since its so far away, a light might be different. What sucks is thats the best pic of the day, everything worked well except for the flare. I have others at the exact same spot the next day that wern't as good, but no flare.

By putting the sun a little more to the left or right would have moved the flare too.
Also, zooming in or out might have changed it too (depending on where in the lens the reflections are occuring)
Maybe removing the Tele adapter might have been enough.
