I got a 5D last week, it had version 1.0.3 installed. I sent it back because of excessive dust on the focusing screen and sensor. My new one came today and it has version 1.0.4 installed. So I am assuming they will release an upgrade soon.
By the way the new one is much better as far as the dust is concerned :)

I've seen other posts of people who said they had a 5D with firmware version 1.0.4 (or even 1.0.5?). Looks like we're getting an upgrade soon.

You probably didn't use it a lot with the 1.0.3 firmware - but do you notice any differences with 1.0.4?

No, I only had the camera for 2 days before I decided to send it back so I have not noticed any differences between 1.0.3 & 1.0.4.

Could you please check one thing for me? I'd like to know if the new firmware brings that super-cool feature from 30D that involves picture auto-rotate; 5D 1.0.3 has either ON or OFF setting, but the 30D has the option not to rotate on camera, but to rotate on the computer. This is very very useful for people who mostly shoot with portrait orientation and dont want to sacrifice LCD estate for reviewing, but also prefer not to bother with manual rotating on the computer.

Nope, just Auto Rotate On or Off. That's it, it sounds like a nice feature however. Maybe next update ;-)

I have seen pictures on the Rob Galbreith site that shows new 5D's with firmware version 1.0.5. And I have seen the posts, they look legit.

Ok, now I have one 5D body with 1.0.3, the other one with 1.0.4 and now I'll find that there is a 1.0.5 around ? Where is it ? Anybody ?
