I was at Mondello last Sunday for the first meeting of the year. There was a crash in the first lap of the supersports race:

Thankfully all of the riders were ok.

The new Triumph Daytona 675 made it's debut at Mondello:

It was freezing at the track but it was great to be back taking photos again.

Wow...wicked looking crash!

The new Triumph sure looks good. What kind of class is it competing in? Over here in the USA it's not legal to compete with the 600's. (at least in AMA anyway...)

I'd love to see some more pics too!

The bikes are being run in the clubman supersports championship, a 600cc class for privateeers. I don't think there are any 675's in factory teams in the major championships.

Man...I can just hear the sound of the bikes crashing...any biker who's experienced a crash first hand will know exactly what "sound" I mean...It needs no explination.

Ouch! Well captured Fireblade ;)

I would like to see more, what is Modello like for both spectating and photography? I haven't seen much of it, other than playing it on TOCA Race Driver 3 ;)

Mondello is great for spectators with good views at all corners. Ther is a high fence around the track though so, unless you have a media pass, it is hard to get good photos. You have to shoot through the fence.

The bttc, bsb and formula 3 are in Mondello this year. A side benefit of a visit is that the guinness is delicious :)
