This is a great forum. I've learned a lot simply by reading some of the available critiques.

At the same time, I've noticed that modified images that "critiquers" (for lack of a better word) worked on, and then posted in the same thread don't display.

While I see that there may be copyright implications, I am wondering whether the fact that these images are missing is intent or accident?

If I mention this, it ain't nitpicking with what is really a superb forum, but rather a bid to take full advantage of the learning possibilities that it offers.

This is my inaugural post, so please bear with me if I've overlooked something.

In many cases what happens is the "critiquer" posts a modified image for only a short time, for illustrative purposes, and then pulls it down. I have done it myself on occasion. I pull it off after a while because it is not my image and it has served its purpose after a few days.

Exactly what I do too.

I do the same as the others here have mention. What I have done recently is create an album in my pbase gallery specially for other members photos stating that I hold no claims to the photos and are there merely for embedding purposes. I figure that way I can forget about them for a while longer.
Does anyone have any comments, feedback or suggestions about my doing so?

I'm doing something a little different. As I host my gallery in my own server, I simply put all the other people pictures in a place not linked anywhere but this forum, in where the ownership is clearly shown. So the only way to see the pictures is via the forum, so there is no risk to confusion about ownerships. Since I still have a lot of space I didn't delete any picture yet.

I also include a similar disclaimer when I upload someone else's picture to my site. However, I don't like to leave it there too long since it is still not my image. I figure that after a few days, it has served the purpose and I delete it. I suppose if I wanted to leave it up longer, I would ask first.
