More engagement shots!!! The biggest challenge for this shot was the hot Florida weather. And the SUN!!! It was harsh!!! It was very difficult to nail down a proper exposure for my subjects without blowing out something in the scene. All in all, a few keepers......but not as much as I wanted.........BOOO........

I think you did a great job, Ro. I love the sparkle of her diamond but I can't pick a favorite photo. Nice work.

Those are great. I think I like #6 the best. To me it looks natural and I like the B&W.

Love the last shot. Great stuff!

The second last shot is great! I think the couple, in particular the guy look too serious in most of the other shots. Also, in the first shot I think the flash would have been better positioned a little closer to the camera axis (but only a little) to minimise the shadow on the wall behind and on the back of the guys head. Aprt from these the shots are lovely.

For me, #6 is the pick of the bunch for an *engagement* shot. I really like the B+W, DOF and the fact that the ring is in there in a subtle way. Maybe you could reshoot #5 showing a little more of here left hand and the ring?

what do Thom and Bernice think of them?

Thanks for sharing! Andy

Thanks for the comments guys and gals!!!

Noted the hand on the 5th shot..........Will keep this in mind next time I shoot an engagement session.

Also noted the seriousness of the guy. I should do a variety of emotions next time. I was just telling them to look "SERIOUS" and "SMILE" throughout the session.......Maybe will do a variety.

Glad the "glints" were not distracting :-)

The couple have not seen the shots yet..........I still have a few days to present the best of the bunch.

I just want to add one more photo though.

I like them looking away in the last shot... Like they are looking to the future. Nice work!

Nice shots. You saved the best for last.

That last one is great, I really like the post processing - the couple look 3D.

How about using the shot where they're looking away as the entry shot into the album and this last one as the exit shot on the last page. That way way they will be looking into the album from both the start and the end of the album.

Nice series. Really good work considering the harsh lighting. Well done.

wow... these are awesome Ro. I'm with Maureen with the sparkle on the ring. I did that on one of ring shots I did for a wedding and the B&G loved it.

Hiya :)

I really like 6, 7 and 8.
I have to agree that they did look a little too serious in some of the shots, but that aside, they were great shots :)

Great job Ro.

#7 is great in my opinion. It shows a certain degree of uncertainty of the journey they are about to take, but they have each other to rely on. I think it is great.

I like your style, bro. Why do I sense a 5D in your future? ;)

watchcaddy - you certainly have a way with words. Thanks!!

Lord_Malone - not quite a 5D.......... :-) But it should be arriving a few days from now.

Very nice shots. I just had my first engagement shoot last weekend. They did not come out as nice as I would have liked..to much sun and what not, but I would be more than happy with these.

On shots 7 & '8' I'm really distracted by the heal on the ladies shoe. I like the pictures, but this is where my eye is instantly drawn.

I also think the gentleman's skin looks quite sallow in photo 4 - it's something I'd have a mess with before presenting them to the couple.

Aside from that, I think they're great :)

Enjoy the 30D :)

Hmmm...........I think you're talking about the close up shot where the guys skin shows some redness............I tried fixing that but have no idea where to start without making it look weird.........OTOH, I could make it B&W :D

BTW, its not a 30D ;) It shoots faster.........

OoOOOo I know, I know. Ro's getting a MKII N :D *turns green with envy* lol. I don't see anything wrong with the skin tone on my monitor (which is profiled and calibrated with the OptixXR).

Nice work Ro! I like 6, 7, and 8 the best. #6 is more of a classic shot, but I like #7 for it's creativeness and the setting is super cool! I'm sure they will be happy with their pics!!

Yes, I think so. On its own it doesn't look to bad, but compare it to image 5 and I feel that the guy in image 4 has quite a yellow complexion.

Congrats on the 1d2 :)
