View Full Version : Movie Clip with A40

Have a question about file extensions. Whenever I download video clips from my A40 through Zoombrowser to my computer, two files are recorded to for each video clip..they are companion to one another.
When I analyse the properties of each file...the first is
a "video clip" and the second companion file is a THD
file. The video clip plays just fine on my Media Player and Movie Maker with sound...but my software doesn't
recognize the THD file for each video I record with my camera. In fact, I can delete each THD file and there seems to be no degradation to each video I shoot.
Can anybody explain what a THD file is...and should I simply delete them when I download each video clip as they seem to serve no purpose?
Many Thanks,
George

Hi

My Canon S400 also has a companion file to the .AVI file, but the extension is .THM.

This is just a thumbnail of the first image of the AVI in JPG format. I can rename the .THM to .JPG and it behaves just like a JPG
