The cheaper EOS Zeiss-Yashica lens mount adaptors have a little locater screw that keeps getting lost and mislaid:
I spotted this ebay auction -may be the alternative non-genuine part.

That's useless without a nut.
That would make the camera a lot heavier. Maybe that's why people take them off?

I can also see this excellent item replacing many a 28-135 IS as doorstop in homes world-wide. Good export opportunities.

No can do. To some countries anyway. The government has banned export of many hi-tech gadgets and increased all manner of security for patents and intellectual property. What if everyone had this technology?
So we don't even export the nuts. I bet the overseas boffins would try to reverse engineer them and figure out what goes in them.
