Pekka et al,

Would it be at all possible...to have a feature where, for example, say you have a gallery of photos (say, these 'main' photos are the best shot, or a certain shot of a subject).

When you click on any one of these photos, you get the normal photo page displaying a larger version, but *also* displayed below the main shot are shots of the subject from the same time, with degrees of variation.

An example of this right now is found here (http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Sample-Pictures.aspx?Equipment=107&desc=Canon-EF-100mm-f/2.8-USM-Macro-Lens-Sample-Pictures) (from www.the-digital-picture.com (http://www.the-digital-picture.com) ). Notice that if you click on some of the photos, there are different examples as well, but 'contained' within that shot's page.

This would allow people to post degrees of variation of the same shot, but not flood the gallery 'main' page with the same shots, preserving diversity and impact of a gallery, but still providing more choices when a photo is viewed.

This would require some type of ability to 'link' photos into a 'sub-image-directory' for their individual image assignments. Another interesting idea would be to have the 'main' image in the gallery rotate after a certain time (obviously user-selectable on whether on or off).

Is this at all possible? I know you're already swamped...

EE has always let you place several image sizes _independently_ to each photo. Size means here another view, another size, black and white, move of how it was shot, image of equipment - whatever you like.

Hey Pekka -

Does each 'sub-image' not have to have the same name as the 'parent' image file for that to work correctly?

Body of the filename has to be same for each size and thumb for same photo id, but extension (in EE 2.0) may differ by viewerstyle (i.e. how the file is displayed).

Filename "limitation" is there for practical reasons, speed, to save excessive management work, simpler code, make things less confusing.
