I would like to poll the forum on what you do with the battery when you put your G2's in the case. Do you take it out if you know it is going to be several hours, days or weeks before the next use?

The user's manual for my Pro90 says to remove the battery pack when the camera is not in use. I leave mine in the camera unless I'm not going to use it for a couple of days.

i would only take mine out if i'm not going to use my camera for over a week or two...of course, this is all hypothetical as i have not gone more than three days without taking a picture! of course, the canon manual is going to say to remove the battery whenever you're not using the camera...they do this to protect themselves and limit their responsibility in case something does go wrong but very unlikely. lithium ion batteries like the one in the G2 don't lose their charge as readily as NiMH batteries while sitting in the camera. just don't touch the contacts with your hands (the oils *may* eventually lead to corrision)

That is a great question, but I was thinking when I get my G2 and either the 340MB Microdrive or 1GB Microdrive that I will be too busy snapping just about anything to even have time to think about leaving the battery in the camera. Great question though.
