Looking to buy a case for my D10. Anyone out there have any suggestions. Preferably looking for a soft case to hold the body, 3 or 4 lenses, two flashes, and whatever else. Does canon "suggest" any specific case or anything like that?

I have the Tamrac 612 Pro case.

It carries 10D, D60, 2x550EX flashes, 100-400, 75-300 IS , 28-135 (or 28-70L), 50/1.4, 16-35L, 2x and 1.4x extenders, Angle Finder C, Lens Cleaning Kit, Filter Kit and that is just on the inside. Also has four pouches, laptop pouch, and paperwork pouch (at least that is what I call them) on outside, along with tripod straps.

Very flexable as far as configuration is concerned. Also the shoulder strap is comfortable even when fully loaded.

All that and it still fits in the overhead bin of an airplane (barely, but it fits)

Remember, what ever you buy, you will eventually need more room. You can keep snacks in the spare lens slot until you get the lenses to go in the slots ;)

[Trivia: I have it and right now, I can fit all of my Camera and lenses inside the bag, but if I get one more lens, something has to go. especially since the next lens on my list is the 70-200/2.8L IS, which is bigger/heavier then the 100-400. I figure I will pull the 75-300IS out of the bag (since I won't need it as much), move one of the flashes to its slot under the D60 and put the 70-200 on the camera and 28-70 (if it will fit) in the former flash spot.]

Anyway that is my recommendation for a great camera bag.

In my mind,. there is only one way to buy a bag/case for all your gear.

Here's how I did it :)

I brought all my gear into a large camera store that hads a lot of bags in stock, (this was a "Ritz")

and I sat myself down on the floor in the middle of the bag aisle and went to work!

When I was done I had a bag that fit all my gear with room to spare (but too much)

I ended up wiht a generic bag as it won't see tons of hard travel,.. but I did need a place to put everything that would be easily carried down the four floors to my car.

I started out with a Tamrac 759 back back. I carry a D30 and a 1D with several lenses. It will also hold a laptop . The only problem is it gets very heavy.

I then bought a 697 backback, which is slightly larger and also has rolling wheels and extended handle. This is great for going through airports and also fits in the overhead bin.

Both bags are very accessible and tough.

Hi.

I really recomend you case by Lowepro.
Search their site (Lowepro) and choose what you want.

Enjoy.

It mostly depends on you and what you want it for (travel, onsite shooting or hiking). I have three, a big Lowepro backpack to carry everything when I hit the road, A Tamarac Velocity 7 for quick and lite shoots flash & a couple of lens and a Tamarac 603 which is too small now but it carries one complete kit for whenever I leave the house, never know when you need to capture the moment :) Most photographers I've dealt with has more than one bag so it's best to take it one step @ a time. Cyberdynesystems has a great idea I'm sure thats how I'm picking my next bag.

CDS, how'd you manage to walk out of the store with all your equipment without getting some suspicious looks from the store clerks? :D
