What steps would one take to get a few photos up for sale? What different options are there?
Feedback from the experienced would be greatly appreciated.

I sell my photos here: http://mk.dpcprints.com
It does cost to join the site but you get a bunch of other things too...storage, access to photo challenges, etc. It's easy to get set up and definitely an option when it comes to selling.

Try picking up a copy of the 2004 Photographer's Market (You can get it at Walden books, Barnes and Nobel, etc.)

but you are practically giving your work away at those prices...

I set my own prices based on what I thought they were worth. It's true, they aren't very expensive, but I'm not a very experienced photographer. If you want to pay more for one, feel free ;)

i think that your work is worth more than that - just my opinion!

Never devalue your photos so much. If you're selling stock photography, low prices are ok, but for fine art prints, those prices don't do your photography justice.
But I do have a question: how much do you sell?

Well, that's interesting to hear from you guys (and nice, too!) What would you consider good prices for my work? I'm not really sure what to base it on...I tried to do them comparable to what others on the site were selling for. I'd love help on this.
I've only been selling for about a month and I'm not quitting my day job or anything. I've sold around ten prints, mostly 8x10s or 16x20s.

I have been asked to put some of my photos in a coffee shop/gallery. How would one go about setting a price for ones photos? I like to print at 11x14, mat it to 16x20 and frame it. Is there a general rule like double or triple the cost you have in the print and materials? Would you normally sell with or without a frame? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The value and therefore the price depends on the usage. A print for the kitchen wall is one thing a full front page in a magazine is another.
FotoMK: From what I gather your prices barely covers the production costs of the print and shipping. This way you are not doing bussines but vulontary work (I'm not saying that this is a bad thing).
