I was at a friend's house in Rochester NY last weekend, and took this photo of his cat, peering at me while being only partially hidden behind the wall:

How sweet is that?

How do you manage to get the eyes the right colour? Whenever I take pictures of my cats looking straight at the camera, their eye's turn yellow. And that's with the red eye reduction on and the flash off. What am I doing wrong? What settings do you use?

I used the magical "P" mode.

No red-eye reduction, which only works when using a flash, I believe, which I also didn't use...

I didn't decide to go until almost the last minute. I was in Toronto on business, and Rachacha (man, I haven't seen it referred to that in years!) is only a three hour drive. I hadn't seen Mike in almost six years, so not going really was never a viable option.

I wasn't there for long, though. Got there at 4:45pm on Friday, and was on my way back to Toronto by 9:30 the next morning...
