Hi everyone,

A while ago I mentioned that I bought the Zenitar 16mm Fisheye from eBay... this was before I picked up the Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L. Well, it arrived today and I walked across the street to take these images.

These are straight from the camera with no processing whatsoever. Converted to JPG-EXIF with FileViewerUtility, I resized to 800x600 to post here... clicking on the links will load the full size image (Warning: 2MB - 4MB per image!!!). I welcome your thoughts on this, as I'm leaning heavily on reselling it since I have that L lens. IMO, not that bad for $160 if you need to go that wide and can't afford the L.

2 minor ones: colour fringing, look at the purple lines near the trees against bright background. Well, nbd, it happens to lenses twice or 3-times the price. Second is the focus is a tad out. It is hard to MF this one. Hope you don't mind.

As a Zenitar user, I think you would love to check out the flare issue. Not big on D30/D60/10D, imo. Street night scene should reveil some. :)

Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Griffin.

Love your shots of Hong Kong by the way. Can't wait to go back again - was there in February when the local papers was still calling SARS the "Chicken Flu."

Anyways, got some links to your shots with the Zenitra? I'm interested to see if I should keep it or chuck it now that I have the Canon 16-35 L lens.

Like I said, these samples were shot quickly after work (within 2 minutes) across the street from my house. I wasn't really that careful on the focus - most of them had focus set at infinity. Also, stopped down I didn't hold it that still either.
