Hi All,

I have recently encountered a problem that my i950 printer keeps telling me that it is idle.

Anything that I send to the printer, it just returns that there is an error. I have checked the cartridges (and have replaced empty ones recently when requested), there are no documents to print in the printer setup and yet the light keeps flashing on the printer and WILL NOT print anything.

PLEASE HELP - I think the printer believes that there is a document still waiting to be printed?

Would it help if I re-installed the printer driver and started from scratch or is there an easier option? I have tried the obvious - turn on /off, held down both buttons etc. Not sure what else to try?

Many thanks

Paul

If I were you, I would call Canon tech support. 757-413-2848. There might also be some help available online at: http://www.usa.canon.com/html/conCprTechSupport.jsp?modelid=8719&section=10216&pname=i950.

Good Luck!

This is Odd,. as usually in the OS,. "Idle" simply means it is available for printing,. as opposed to "Busy"?

What OS are you using?

Also,. despite that fact that I own this very printer and have had no problems,. I am not to fond of the USB interface on printers,. especially with older versions of Windows... sometimes it helps to plug and unplug a USB device to get it to show up again,. sometimes, especially with printers,. this trick can cause more problems (like Windows insisting on istalling the printer again)
