watch the ol' bait and switch even at the stores.
i used to hear horror stories from the similar stores in san francisco.
try this place:
www.bestpriceaudiovideo.com
$1359 for 10d.
i went through a couple "rate a business" websites and one didnt have a NEG against it.

There are NO Canon D10 cameras in Brooklyn!
On the other hand, you might find a lot of Canon 10D cameras.

They are located on Park Rowe in NYC. It's about 15 minutes from Brooklyn on the 2,4, or 5 trains. They have good prices and a super 30 day return policy. I buy all my camnera bodies from them including my Nikon F5 and Canon 10D. Remember, prices that are too good to be true usually are.

Band H is a wonderful store for camera equipment. BUT, they only have a fourteen day return policy. "J and R " has a thirty day return policy. I returned a Nikon D100 with no hassles. I buy my camera bodies from J and R. I buy all my other photo equipment at Band H due to the wide selection and knowledgeable staff.

Careful on in store purchasing most stores has two sets of prices. Online prices are usually cheaper than onsite. I've been watching prices since the PMA and right know the two best that I've seen is Bestpriceaudiovideo.com & outpost.com $1349.99. Some places will even offer a extended warrenty.

Not sure, call around & see what they say (stores) also remember in most cases you'll have to pay state sales tax also.

Hey Guys,
I got my 10d today from Best buy and got it for a total of $1461/-
Base price - $1250/- + Tax ( 8.25%)
4 years service plan - $100 ( Parts and labour)
I think its good deal. Only thing is I had to pay $100/- extra for tax since I bought it from the store.
You have negotiate a little bit to get thios price.
Thanks.

Scott,
Since you use both Nikons and Canons maybe you can steer me in the right direction.
I'm debating whether to purchase the Nikon 100D or the Canon D10. I have a few Nikkor AF that I use with my 8008s body. But I'm open to getting a Canon if it's a superior camera. I'm only using these for a hobby at this time. What are your thoughts.
Thanks,
jeffmgr

I have been looking at both Canon & Nikon Digital.
If I was to Buy Nikon it would be the D1X, only would buy D100 if a Real Bargain. I too still have Nikon glass- the Nikor 24-120 lens.
But there are too many good buys on 28-70 2.8 L series lens & not on the comparable Nikon.
All said and done whichever we buy just go out & take some great photos.
WOULD STILL LIKE TO HEAR FROM RAJEEV RE GREAT PRICE AT BEST BUY.
One mention if you have a Best Buy credit card they do send out 10% coupons, these would certainly help with the cost.
Would really like that $1250.00 price & then use a 10% coupon, WHOW THAT WOULD BE A GGREAT PRICE.

Took a look at their web site and wasn't impressed with their prices. B&H beats them in most cases. May be able to use their price match policy to get a lower price, however.

Would you E-Mail me a copy of the Best Buy sales receipt so I can get local store to match price.
Thanks

Hey guys sorry for late reply,
I first looked on the net and found this,
http://www.infinitycameras.com/viewitem.php?IndexID=3688&RefTag=p.grabber
here they are offering for $1199 + shipping.
I told best guy guys to macth the price and they agrred for 1300/- and after i agrreed to buy the 4 years service plan for $100/- they got it down to 1250/- and plus tax.
I guess if you tell them this price they will be willing to negotiate and they know that it is availbe on the net for lower than $1499/-
Need to push and pull a little bit. one thing is that they do not stcok in the store. you may have to wait a day or two to get the camerta in Hand.
when you buy on the net make sure to verify the credibility of the store and read the reviews for that website.
I guess this helps.

Before buying the 10D, I spent weeks reading the Nikonians Forum ( http://www.nikonians.org/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=list&forum=DCForumID71&conf=DCConfID3) on the D100. Many people have great difficulty getting correct color and spend days playing with calibration and custom curves to get decent color. I then bought a D100 anyway, because of my investment in Nikon glass. The camera was a major disappointment. It couldn't make the same exposure twice. The LCD was useless due to horrible picture quality. I returned it to J and R. I then bought the 10D. I am extremely happy with it. I bought the 10D at JandR and my L glass from B and H. The two week return policy at B and H doesn't give me enough time to make sure the body has no defects. That's why I buy my camera bodies at Jand R. I have been very happy with both retailers both in store and on line. Their prices are usually about the same. IMHO spending a few extra bucks to buy from a retailer who will be there for me if I have problems is well worth it.
