When your newly modified G1 arrives in the afternoon but you don’t get home until after dark, there’s a desperation to shoot anything that shows up in the viewfinder. In this case, it was the four-foot-high sitting Buddha in a corner of our living room.
It does have some small charm for looking slightly three-dimensional with the frame, the fern in front and the shadow behind. Anyway, it’s a quick shot to say hello and to once again thank people for their kind thoughts regarding my mother-in-law, whom I think of whenever I see this wood carving.
I created a remembrance page for her at www.kleptography.com/mamma. You may have read some of my comments in her thread but perhaps not the last bit, which is rather ironic.
I’ll post something a little more worthy of this camera soon.
Cheers,
Don
P.S. For those who don't know the story, my previous G1 was stolen about three weeks after it was modified for handheld true infrared. I purchased perhaps the last G1 in Hong Kong and sent it away for modification and it just arrived back today. The hot mirror was replaced with clear glass and it has a Lensmate 49mm adapter with a B+W 093 infrared filter.
