Could anybody tell what cause rounded dark spots on the image (sky area on this one)? Is it just a dust or something else? The spots are located exactly at the same position every time for all images made

(just copy url into your browser window - doesn't work directly for some reason)

Please, give me some idea is it fixable and how much it could cost to repare. Thank you in advance!

P.S. This is a new camera, purchased just a week ago :(

Innfo,

That looks like dust to me...Try cleaning the senor, just be careful. You should try the dust blower.

yes sir
thems dust bunnies

start here:
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/essays/sensor-cleaning.shtml

and i believe there are various threads about the best way to clean sensors on this forum (i actually started the last one)

i have a few spots too and its about time i did something about them.
when you have cleaned yours there are various suggestions for future avoidance of this problem such as switching your camera off before changing lenses (the charged sensor attracts dust perhaps?) and pointing the camera down the way to take the lens off and put the next one on (sort of obvious that one).

good luck

At one week old, if you are not happy with it, take it back! You shouldn't have to be delving into the internals at a week old.

Before turning back in, try cleaning it once. From reading several forums, the odds are good you will get as many dust spots back as you started with if you turn it in.

Not sure what the difference is with the 10D, but it does seem to like to collect dust particles.

D60 = 13 months, 11,000+ images, no dust
10D = 6 months, 5,000+ images, two cleanings
