Canon A70 shot at 1/80 F8 in manual mode with an Ikelite DS 50 stobe at about 50 feet underwater.

This is the first time I really explored using manual mode. The photo has been processed minmally in MS Picture manager.

Hey tedtim,

I've been looking for someone using Ikelite's substrobes. I've been using a G2 with Ikelite's underwater housing and onboard flash. I've not made the leap to substrobe.

If you wouldn't mind, let me know how you like it and link me to more photos if you have some.

Also, if you wouldn't mind, take a look at some of my underwater shots at http://www.pbase.com/dougsturgess/main_gallery and let me know how much improvement in quality using a substrobe with my G2 would give over the posted photos taken with the onboard flash. Thanks.

great shot. I've found that manual mode works good but if you're changing subjects quite a bit especially without a strobe, aperature priority works best for me. Although it will usually default to 1/60 sec shutter speed when using the flash which seems to work alright.
Good on ya
