Had the G1 for about 9 months now. And I have three problems with it so far.
1.) Lens barrel is wobbly. The rattling noise is recorded when I am using the movie mode and moving around. (Try this yourself)
2.) Top LCD is kinda defective. In a cold weather (here in Houston, TX) some segments of the top LCD fail to turn on. So instead of 8, sometimes it'll show 3, etc. Or I have to turn on the color display to tell what mode I have the flash on.
3.) PC connection mode does not always connect me to the PC. Sometimes I have to unplug and plug the USB cable.
I use this camera very lightly. It seems that Canon does not really care about quality.
This is my fourth digital camera and I think this is the last time I will buy Canon product. Sony will probably be my next choice.
