Pekka,
I've noticed a few funnies with extrcting Exif data.
1. Where I have evaluative metering set in exif , it gets converted to multisegment.
2. The subject distance seems to be X1000 so 50 m gets changed to 50000m
3. The Camera type is not extracted at all
4. In the the photo editor, the aperture does not always appear in the list (shows as NOT IN MENU (95) for example). However it does display correctly when viewed but as 95 instead of 9.5.
Regards
Alan
I forgot to mention, the Welcome Text Active links don't work when using the grouping of Exhibitions and also when using the grouped exhibitions if you leave comments for a picture and then click on the Gallery Index link you get taken right back to the list of grouped exhibition wheras I think you should get taken to the exhibition index

This is because I use generic mode descriptions as defined by EXIF organization. Manufacturer-specific terms will come later. The terms can be changed in code, though.

Can you mail me one demo image please?

Camera -> database camera"guessing" is done in beta 2.
4. In the the photo editor, the aperture does not always appear in the list (shows as NOT IN MENU (95) for example). However it does display correctly when viewed but as 95 instead of 9.5.
Again, a demo image would be helpful.

Pekka,
An example is at

If you download the image you will see the embedded exif data, and then compare that to what ee is showing
(Sorry about the long URL!!)
Hope this helps

Some more inaccuracies in translation of Exif data
(Canon EOS D30)
- Shooting mode appears as "Manual" when the real one was "Program AE"
- When using my 16-36 f2.8L lens, it seems that "infinite" is translated to exif as 655m (ee shows 65535 in beta1)
Canon G3
- Flash says "yes" when exif says "off"
- ISO not translated
- Evaluative metering incorrectly translated as "Multisegment"
- Focus distance appears blank
