Last week, I spent two days in Big Sur, California. There was one scenic overlook that I really liked, so I stopped there three times to take pictures with different lighting each time. Please tell me which one you like best.

I like #3. Flowers in the front, hills in the distance, sea stacks and bridge in the middle, and nice light.

#1 is zoomed in too much I think. Decent light though.

#2 has flat, noon-time light.

Nice spot for a picture, good eye.

All three are very nice photos but I really like no. 2 for it's natural look in colour. No. 3's colours are too dark. I don't think it is the version that best depicts the scene.
If I were looking at a travel brochure the photo that would entice me to visit that area would be No. 2

It has been about 30 years since I drove Highway 1 from Carmel to Big Sur. What beautiful seascapes.

I have to agree with Jonathan Tuell's comments.

I really look for photographic paintings. #1 almost makes it -- but for crop as Tuell reports. In fact , look at Tuell's misty river and moonlight waters -- and you will see that you came close in #1.

But no cigar, and that I think is why Conk likes 2. So too #3 does lead with its foreground perspective leadin, but the color is too late (or early) -- these browns (G3 ?) are just too strong for my taste..

I like #3, because I can almost feel the evening sun coming down. Also it has a good contrast (in opposite to #1).

What about presenting all 3 as a triptych, or panel, side by side?

This would give an impression of the scene at different times of the day and how much difference the light changing makes.

I like aspects of all three, but I like the middle shot most. If more flowers were present and it had a bit more drama in the lighting it would be perfect. The colour of the water at shore is simply grand.

I can see why you returned so many times. Well worth the shots.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I was hoping there would be a decisive favorite, but the your opionions are split. I like #3 the most, but I really like the colors of #2. I tryed to play with the perspective of #1 by zooming in, but I'm not sure it gave great results.
