Man, I just can't get this infrared shots sharp. Is there a trick to getting sharp infrared shots from a 350D? I think I get it out of focus when I put the filter on. What a pain. I'm using ISO 800 to get somewhat of reasonable shutter speed.
I sure could use some green foliage.

Here are a couple for you guys to shred :) Any comments welcome. I'm trying here.

Well what lens are you using? Canon lenses usually have a distance scale with markers on it for use with infrared filters and film. You have to focus your subject, put the filter on, and then re-focus to the apropriate mark on the lens.

I like them too. Reminds me of a science fiction or into the future type movie scene. Very nice!

I'm using the kit lens. It doesn't have a distant scale.

Hi Crypto, I am newbies in this forum. I am a Infrared enthusiast (since a year ago). I like your composition, its looks like 'another world'. Now, I am using Nikon D70 for my IR shots with "traditional" technique without removing hot mirror. As I know, removing hot mirror and replacing with clear glass (or IR glass) can raise unsharp problem due to difference between visible light and IR focuses. It must be focus adjustment, but don't do it your self! lets camera service centre do. Several webs give adjustment procedure, I was tried it and... my old 300D became RIP.

I love that second shot! amazing!

Well from reading...If you use a IR filter, you should focus without the filter then put the filter on, then switch to MF so the camera doesn`t try to focus again. I would also pop it on a tripod so you won`t have to worry about shutter speeds too.
personally, I don`t see why your complaning. These shots look awesome, I think the softness just gives it more of a errie feel to them. thx for sharing!
