I purchased a digital elph SD 200 less than a year ago. I had the camera in my shirt pocket and tripped, sending the camera flying to the asphalt. Everything about the camera is still functional except the display. The display turns on but is simply blankly lit. The camera still takes pictures properly and I can retrieve them. The warranty is for one year, but excludes accidental damage. Is it worth trying to get it fixed or should I just give up and purchase a new camera? And words of advice: never keep your camera in your shirt pocket.
Thanks.

I guess it all depends on how much it will cost to get it fixed vs. a new camera. What's it worth to you? Personally, I would use this as an opportunity to buy a new camera. But then again, I love to buy and research electronics. Just wish I could afford more :).

Welcome to the forum!
Bugger -- that's really tough... but, we all learn right? ;-)
I'd suggest checking how much it will cost to have repaired. If it is at least half of what it cost to purchase the camera then you're better off buying a new one. However, I would think that the display shouln't cost that much...
Good luck!
