I just posted an article about a standardized method of testing AF:
http://www.canondslr.com/articles/m-dream
The method can be useful for those with misfocusing camera/lenses, as a way to check the AF error before/after you send your equipment for adjustment, or just for curious minds like myself.
The chart looks complicated at first sight, but the fancy stuff I made for myself (virtual ruler, outer pages for testing all sensors, etc.) can be skipped. A single center 10x7" page and a plain ruler with 1 inch marks positioned at 80 degrees to the paper (at 80 degrees, 1 inch is precisely equal to 10 microns of AF error) will do just fine for testing the center AF sensor.
Enjoy! :)
