Over the past 12 months I have had the pleasure of photographing 4 attractive young women who I have engaged through Mercer and or Net Models (they’re usually in both) on a TFCD basis. I have found them to be most enthusiastic, eager to please and very easy to work with.

As I have not been shooting for commercial gain rather for camera club competitions and for our respective portfolios I have only contracted the models on a TFCD basis. In return I have provided them with a CD with anything up to 130 full size images (roughly half to two thirds of what was taken) of which a number will be additionally in either black and white, cross processed or pastel (sepia overlay over colour) and a second set at email size (320x480 pixels). This is probably a bit generous but I feel that’s it my way of repaying them for their time.

With a couple of the models I have had the pleasure of two shoots with them (1 outdoors and the other in my studio) at about 6 – 8 weeks apart and I am interested to hear from you guys how often you use the same model on a TFCD basis, is anything more than 2 sessions pushing it?

PS: If you are interested some of the shots from the shoots these can be seen at http://www.mercermodels.com/model.asp?m_id=9907

I have only used two models more then once on a TFCD basis (not counting girlfriends who also happen to model).
It depends on why - for you doing it for the fun of it, if the models like your work then I see no problem with you continueing to shoot them on a TFCD basis if they are okay with that.
It provides them practice and shots for their portfolio which they may need.

I know several models who have a "pet" photographer who takes a lot of TFCD sessions of them for their portfolio, usually a friend. They tend to also occasionally have them play escort for paid sessions.

If you have been getting them to do TFCD with the promise of money later, then I would say two is the absolute limit in that case and usually once is enough. But as long as no other expectations have been made then I don't see a limit.

Just my opinion,
