I have a circular polarizing filter form Hoya and I wonder if I have to turn it around for some shots.
I thought that one has to only do that with reg. polarizing filters.

That's the whole point of a polarising filter - you rotate it until it gives the effect you want (deep blue sky, minimal reflections, or whatever).
The Circular in the name is, confusingly, not the shape of it but the way it works. The other type is a Linear Polarising filter, but that can cause problems with some metering and/or AF systems, so the most common nowadays is the Circular one. A Linear one can also be circular in shape, just to add to the potential for confusion.
