Hello,

My first post here with pics from my 10D which I'm just getting used to. Both taken on the island of Guernsey last weekend. The sunset tree picture is pretty much as it came out of the camera with a little tidy up to remove an errant telegraph pole. "Flag one" has had the flagpone from the pitch and putt course isolated, saturation increased and the remaaining background desaturated to black and white in photoshop - not sure about the composition on this one so any helpful hints would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

#1: out of focus or in need of a little sharpening, shadows are a little dark, but that's a matter of taste
#2: doesn't do anything for me

Keep going though!

Thanks - I'll keep at it :-)

You were right about the sharpening though. I've been doing more with RAW format and just got a copy of Capture One's RAW processor and I'm really suprised just how much sharpening is needed to get a picture "into focus" (for a while I though I had the dreaded focus problem!)
