hello everyone,
i just thought i'd be nice and let everyone know about this so no one will have to suffer the hell i've had to suffer for the past 3 days.
i changed some preference settings in my Zoombrowser (v. 4.0.2.120) on my w2k IBM t20 thinkpad... basically i tried to "help" my computer so that it wouldn't have to employ so much memory to simply display image (.jpg) files...
well, it majorly foobarred my computer so that every time i booted up explorer.exe would fail and i got the ever-cryptic
''The instruction at ''0xXXXXXXX'' referenced memory at ''0xXXXXXXXX''. The memory could not be read''.''
and after it "booted" up, i couldn't use it at all. the errors would just continue to pop up and i couldn't do anything except reboot it.
after freaking out and trying everything i could (including enlisting some help from some of the sysadmins at my place of employment) i decided to change those preference back in windows safe mode and everything's fine once again.
anyhoo, just wanted to give everyone a head's up... if you know who i could email at the canon site about this, i'd like to alert them to this as well.
thanks.
