Canon 10D flash

I would like to take night time football action shots. What would the best flash be to use for the 10d

I don't shoot football but my guess is that you use a fast telephoto and a high ASA. Flash is only going to be useful in shots less than 30 feet away. That's my gut feeling but some of you with more expertise could probably answer this better.

If You are going to have any chance at all of a flash working, then the 550EX Stun Gun :) is it. However, its range for any kind of effect is about 50 feet and from a practical standpoint 30feet is it. This means at best you can cover about 25% of the field.

The other issue is if you use the 550EX at full power, anybody in view and within 10feet is going to be blinded for a second, this could get you in trouble.

LOL, nicely described!! I've used my old 540EZ to that effect once or twice when shooting in rock clubs - great for making your escape :)

don't use flash for football. will blind players: use high speed asa, at 1600-3200.
