g1 and filters

does using filtters noticably improve the picture quality with the g1?

It has been reported on the CTF in DPReview (many moons ago) that a high quality multi-coated UV filter will reduce, but not elimimate CA when used on a G-1. I have a B&W for my G-1 but have not tested this claim out, rather I just use it!
For sunny days with lots of blue sky a circular polarizing filter will definately help, but its certainly nothing unique to the G-1.
