Found 2 leaf hoppers this morning, a big one (1cm) and a small one about half that size.

Thank you, BE. I prefer the first one myself (a lot). The other one was so tiny, probably around 4mm, and kept disappearing behind the branch. I used one hand to chase it back on top and the other to hold the camera. It was difficult to get the focus right :( Thought the red eyes were interesting enough to post him though.

Great captures. It's pretty big for a leafhopper.

Great captures Bea- these look like they are both leaf hopper nymphs. Both have great eyes. #1 angle works better.

Really like the comp in #1 - it looks almost as though he's having a snooze.

Brian, what would I do without you?! Thank you so much! Nymphs don't have wings yet, right?

Leo: I found out that leafhoppers range in size from 2 to 30mm. I don't know how that applies to nymphs, though.

BigAl: he may look sleepy but he was giving me a hard time to, disappearing behind the branch. Because he was bigger it was easier to focus on one-handed :D. I actually got quite a few good shots of this one.

Hatch and Omri: thank you :)
