HAs anybody purchased filters from eBay seller "hkdirect" or other eBay sellers from Hong Kong? They have Hoya SHMC polarizers for just over half of what I can get them from B&H for. Seller has very good feedback. Almost seems to good to be true!

I have purchased three filters from Hong Kong on Ebay. I can't remember who the seller was & I closed that Ebay account cuz it was a business account and I no longer needed it. It took about four weeks to get them but, they were top shelf Hoya filters just like you get here in the states. I hope that helped.

OK, I found the folks I bought mine from. The seller is hkbbstore (2480 *). Great filters as I said but slow delivery time! BTW, don't purchase the insurance because it don't cover it anyway! I was told this by the USPS. You're just wasting your money!

I recently posted the following in the positive feedback sticky

I've been a bit leery of ordering anything from overseas to the US, however, based on some recommendations at another photo forum decided to try an Ebay seller, HKDIRECT.

For anyone buying filters and other small camera accessories, I'd like to highly recommend them. They ship from Honk Kong, and say the package will take 9-21 days, however, my order came via registered mail in 7 days, was wrapped well, and the entire order including shipping was $193.50 which compares to highly recommended Filter Connection's price of over $300!

I had a couple of questions during the process and they responded quickly. Would definitely deal with them again

I've bought filters on ebay from slphotogear - 8638 several times and have been pleased with their prices and service.

I wonder if HKBBSTORE & HKDIRECT are one in the same? At any rate, I was very pleased!;)

As much as I'd like to save a few bucks, I'm really having a hard time trusting vendors in HK and China. There's so much patent violation and so many knockoff products coming out of China these days, I think I'll stick with a local source for filters. With thousands invested in lenses, what's another $50 to make sure you're getting a real B+W or Heliopan?

I've bought uv (protection) and circular polarizers from HK direct a couple of times. Delivery took about 2 weeks from the time I paid, but the prices were well worth the wait.
