Greetings.
I would like to build some “garage studio”. Actually, I already have studio, but I’m in a faze of redecorating it. Peel of paint from the wall to the mortar, and making it to look like new. Room is 5x5 meters and about 3,15m toll.
Until now, I mostly done commercial product photos with halogen lighting and some home made diffusers, and when I must, I rent studio (it’s about 100$ here for 4 hours, or 200$ for 8 hours, but it’s eastern Europe) to shoot fashion or ads involving people. But now, as I have better gear (10D) and lot of experience, I would like to buy some quality studio lighting.
And as I say, I live in Eastern Europe and money is (big) issue.
So I’m mostly interested in Bowens 2x1000ws Esprit kit. It is relatively new, and has 6v current for triggering, and thus compatible with 10D.
Also 1000Ws head unlike 500ws have fun and is more suitable for constant shooting.
Oh, yes, I also plan to buy two 130 x 180 cm softbox (I thing it’s a Red wing brand, they are in some relation with Calumet, like Bowens).
Also, those tripods from kit, are they stable enough to keep those expensive 1000Ws heads in the air?
What are you guys think, is this setup OK for better looking commercial with people and fashion stuff?
Also, I would ask you, who has “garage studio” to post some picture of your setup, if you could..
Finally, very important to me, one my friend who regularly visit London would probably buy that for me, so I’m interested to know, mostly from forum visitors from London, does anybody know, are there any shop in London who always have that lighting on their storage for immediately delivery.
Thanks very much and sorry on my English…
