A few weeks after I got my 350D my friend and I went to the stage at our school to test out the camera. We used 2 of the schools lights, I can't tell you what they are as I can't remember . A change in backdrop is in order next time I think, as this one can be pretty distracting in some shots.
These two came out alright though I think, they were all shot with the EOS 350D and the kit lens. Thanks for looking :)

Nice shots - I really like the first one as your subject looks very relaxed and natural - only criticism is backdrop (as you said) and too much space at the top. Keep goin.

The poses are nice. I think some fill should be used.

The light is a little bright- maybe a tad less exposure next time. On the first shot, I think you want to shoot from a little lower. Overall, I think they are very nice.

I really like them! They could use a lot of things fixed as suggested but they are still very nice to look at and a great first attempt.

Thanks everyone :)
I agree, they're far from pro by any means. But I'm happy with the way they came out for a first try, and I learned a lot from it and your comments :)
By fill, you mean flash? I'll look into it, and I agree that the lighting's a bit harsh. I had trouble getting a fast enough shutter speed with the lights without having it too bright on her face, I tried arranging the lights around a bit to try different positions. I'll try again soon, hopefully with better results.
Cheers, Paul
