Not sure I could make it to Philly, but I can easily make it to Gettysburg. There is also a Zoo there called the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve. http://www.cwpzoo.com/

Sparks, MD., I know where that is. I have family who lives down in Hereford, MD. I shoot there frequently down near Prettyboy Dam and stuff.

I can probably make it up depending on the dates and the dog sitution. Leaning toward SE PA (Delaware, Chester, Lancaster counties and Philly). Keep your eye out for DC/MD/VA activities. There's a SE PA thread down a bit further, too.

My fiance and I are in Gettysburg all the time - such history nerds!!!! There is a zoo by there that is pretty neat as well.

Well, here is the details. There is going to be a little Meet & Greet deal going on June 10/11th. This is the small deal of a couple friends from prior M&Gs, but anyone is welcome to come along.

The main M&G we are shooting for (no pun intended), is June 24/25th. Wanted the very last weekend, but this is it, since the last weekend would actually be first in July, too close to the July 4th Holiday.

Drop me an IM/PM for me details or an email if interested and I will get you more exact details and contact info.

Yes we can discuss it here, that is fine. Last year we all met up at the Wal-Mart in G-Burg since you know it is an easy landmark to find, lol. Then from there we decided on what the day would hold.

Oh I definitely agree with the contact info. And Wal-Marts are always easy landmarks to find. lol. I'm only about 35 minutes from Gettysburg so that'll work out nice.

I think it's both. Mini-meet on the 10th then a bigger one on the 24th. Doesn't make a lot of sense if anyone is invited but it's ok with me anyway.

On both really. Some of us were already meeting earlier in June anyways, so we figured on making an invite to whomever wants to come. Some can't make it one date but can the other so kinda ended up being both, lol. We did this last year as well. Drop me an IM for contact info, as I don't publicly post my cell number, lol.

looks like I wont be able to make either date unfortunately (saturday's are tough for me because of work) but have a great time!

if anyone's interested in maybe shooting together one sunday, or even during the week, feel free to pm me.

Just so you know it is actually both Saturday & Sunday. Some come one day and some come the other day. I know a few from the other Forum will be coming on Sunday. My Wife and I usually hit both days since we normally suggest it and we only live 20mins from Gettysburg.

Gettysburg. Not sure what their zip is. All you gotta do from State College is hit 22/322 east to Rt 15 and head south down below Harrisburg.

The large M&G I won't be there on Sat. 24th. I will have to keep it to a one day M&G the 25th Sunday. I think most people who said they were coming weren't going to be there on Sat. anyways though. I just realized that my RSD isn't going to allow me to do 2 days in a row again, not without ending up in the Hospital, I hope this doesn't hinder anyone's plans. If you wanted to do both days and were going to stay in the area just let me know and I can give you places to go on Sat. that will keep you occupied and having a great time.

But please plan on keeping it to the 25th Sunday for the actual M&G.

I'm planning to be there, but I'm curious about something. I've never attended one of these before, so I don't know the program. Here's my question: Why do we meet at WalMart between 10 & 12. That is, what do we do for those 2 hours?

I think it's to give those that live further away the opportunity to get there and meet up with the entire group. If you wanna show up earlier or later I'm sure there won't be a problem. I plan on being there before 10 am if I can help it, but that means I'll be on my own until the rest of the folks show up. Now that I know the way up from Martinsburg, I shouldn't have a problem getting there this time.:D

I went 81 north to 30 east, so going 70 to 15 is faster? My problem wasn't the route, but once I got to Gettysburg. I hate circles! LOL :D

LOL. Yeah that thing's a pain at times.

70 to 15 keeps you on more highway than local road so you can cruise faster. It should be almost the exact same distance. 70 is an intersatate so it's pretty much gravy once you get out of Hagerstown, and 15 is almost the same except it's a state highway. 81 is ok but you get that Chambersburg traffic, then have to hit 30 which is slower, single lane, and even more unpassable traffic at times.

I suggest avoiding Rt 30. I often encounter slow traffic on 30 with limited opportunity to pass.

I am always up for a G-Burg meet up and photo shoot. I love shooting the Battlefield, Caledonia, Cunningham Falls, Wildlife Preserve, etc. Always something to shoot. I know July 1st and maybe 2nd I will be up there, the 1st with my Wife and maybe the 2nd but without her (she works) to shoot the Re-Enactments :)

DUH! How could I not be up there for that! I'll have to see if the family wants to come as well. Is it a big event or is it only a few people? I think that would be a blast just to watch. Hmmm... I don't think I have anything scheduled for that weekend.

Oh, the baby tiger cubs are on display at the Catoctin Zoo in Thurmont. I may take a trip there this week or weekend.

The Re-Enactments that you pay Admission for are HUGE. But then there are the re-enactors that justs et up all over town as well which are quite nice and those are free.

I've had my fill of Gettysburg. I'm good for about 10 years. :rolleyes: Might shoot the re-enactments here in Shippensburg however, even though they're much smaller in scale.

I re-enacted Revolutionary War for 4 years and Civil War a couple of times. I can pretty much dress or dance for any time period :-)
