Hi all.
This is a shot of a goldfinch. For some reason, I have an absolutely miserable time getting good shots of these buggers; they're my absolute downfall. LOL
You've all seen bird shots MUCH, MUCH better than this one, but trust me when I tell ya, for ME, this is a good shot of this species.
It's not meant to show my photographic or Photoshop skills, as both need a LOT of work. It's just a shot from the 30D that I could never quite get with the 20D.
Question is, why?
1. The improved autofocus algorithym in the 30D really is an improvement on the 20D.
2. My 20D, after almost 18 months, is in need of service/calibration.
3. Dumb luck.
4. All of the above.
(My vote is for #3 :-))

The autofocus is definately a bit faster on the 30D as compared to my 20D.
Again, not a dramatic shot by any means, and I certainly have LOTS of room for improvement, but this one and a bunch of others that I shot this morning are certainly much better with the 30D.
Lens is the 300f/4L IS, with the Canon 1.4TC.
