Two Portraits from the Festival

I went to the Spring Arts Festival today in Gainesville, FL. I took these two pictures of my friends that came along with me. I edited them with photoshop o'course. Tell me what you think.

Both photos are very nice. I like #1 the best, I like the composition with the artist hand and your friend looking down.

Both lovely shots. The first one is particularly nice- you've positioned yourself over the painters' shoulder but kept a good view of the girl. Makes me feel like I'm right there, helping paint her face. Great job. One suggestion- easy on the frame, it really detracts from the image.

The first one is beautiful, but the way she's bending her thumb hurts my eyes. Seriously, how can some people do that? It's practically beyond 70° and by the rules of human anatomy that's about 40° after it broke.
