I was reading and please correct me if im wrong, but the color temp of the Alien Bee ints are 5600K.
What is the color temp of the 580ex? Can they be used together if the color temp is the same?
I am also asking this question since I am calibrating my monitor and wanted to know what the best native white point I should use for my monitor...
Any help?

I'm not sure that you should calibrate your monitor to the color temp of your strobes, i've never heard of anyone doing that before. Calibrate your monitor as the software suggests I would think, but I know very little about this. Gota read that book I bought some time!
As for color temp of strobes vs 580... try it and see. Maybe shoot a white wall, half with 580, half with ABs. That'll tell you. I don't tend to mix them, and I shoot on AWB...

The 580ex is 55-5600K based on my results. You should have no problem using it with your studio lights.
The monitor calibration is a different animal altogether, unrelated to your photograpy lighting. The standard for pc work seems to be 6500K. I just picked up a Pantone huey for $79. It is a great investment for anybody that prints their photos at home or a lab. (I think that is most of us!) Takes five minutes to set up and run. I was close before, but now my colors are dead on. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Yeah, most flash fits in that mid-5000K mark, so you should have much trouble at all.
Tungsten and flash..., now that is something completely different, but we all know that.
