A large Pill Woodlouse disturbed by my prodding fingure rolled into a defensive ball then after checking all was clear uncurled but ended upside down. One final effort and it was righted and off again.
60 EFS macro on 350D with 25 tube, flash.

Nice pics :D The flash on the first one is way too harsh. The third one is defiantly the best.

Wonderful series Racketman- love these woodlice but haven't seen any for a while.
Think #3 is the best.

Okay, I'll be different. I am really fond of the first two. Just clone (or burn) that one little hotspot on #1 and its REALLY my fav. :D

thanks for c & c ; on a brighter day I would not have used flash which as noted has looked harsh on the beast's shell. I had little time to get flash right and the shadows are too intrusive for my liking. Pleased to get the sequence though and will be prodding more in broad daylight!

Very well done racketman, these are superbly captured and tell a good story about the woodlice in question. Very sharp, and love the colours.

Nice series in the life of a rolly polly. I have always wondered what their official name is

Great series RM. The flash in #1 doesn't "bug" me at all - I feel it adds to the mood of the pic!
