Strange when i think about it i have never taken a shot of a train befor but got a chance today as this one was running on a private track 10mls away.
20d 17 to 40L iso 200 1/320 f11 aprox.

NIce images, Rob. I like the atmosphere of all three. The smoke and steam of the first really grabs me. :)

Hehe, I like how you guys call them 'drivers'. We were having a discussion about that the other day at work (I work on steam locomotives as well). Things are MUCH different over on this side of the pond.
I really like your last photo though. Good work.

The smoke and steam of the first really grabs me. I love that effect with the old trains! Too bad it wasn't moving a bit to throw the steam behind it.

My dad worked for the railroad for 30 years - we call them engineers :-) I like your second shot alot.

Thanks for coments, it never went above 8mph as it only has 1mile of track :( so no chance of the smoke going backwards .
