Hi Thomas,
Haven't heard anything specific about the lenses described (meaning: they are not from a reputable manufacturer like Canon, Olympus, Tiffen, Raynox, Kenko that you could get further information on). The name only comes up now and then when mail-order houses offer bundle sales on these lenses. What I refer to as 'reputable' lenses, you'll find here: http://kazutoku.cside21.com/G1andG2/report1_eng.htm#conv
The more critical of the two lenses is the wide converter.
I personally would not expect too much of something advertised as .45 wide converter. First, it is not going to be a real x0,45 conversion lens (rather something in the 0,6 to 0,8 range). There just is no such lens. And if there was, it would suffer from grave distortion/vignetting/chromatic aberration issues. I tried some cheap Hama video wide converters, they all made horrible pictures.
Second, many cheap wide converters have vignetting or distortion issues on the G2/G3.
But for the price offered... Ask about their money-back guarantee! If you can send the lenses back, you have nothing to loose. Order them, test them out! Make test pictures and examine them whether they are crisp, detailed and wether the colours come out right.
But then, maybe someone on the forum already has these lenses and can comment from practice...
Regards,
Andy
PS: I observe that the item ships from the US, but you buy it over ebay.uk. If they send it per UPS/DHL either have them disclose a value of below 40 USD, or be prepared to receive mail from their forwarding agent a week after the converters arrive ... informing you that they were so friendly to take over the customs duties for you and presenting the bill.
I made that experience when I had to pay 5$ of duties and 25 $ of charges for customs formalities on a 60$ order from the US to Germany. (But then, I might also have made that experience on that order of Canon 'L' lenses I'm going to place one day ...)
