Actually it's the same pair,. different day.
These two are Frey and Odin,. they Live in Downtown Providence and are,. quite frankly, the reason I got a DSLR. I needed the lenses to get closer to them!

Good composition, CDS. The two hawks make a good fore-and-aft pair, don't they? :)
Oh oh! Looks like one of the pair is eyeing the topmost part of the cross to get a better vantage point but he's really thinking twice about it! Yup, it looks pretty darn pointy up there!!! :D

Wonderful opportunity! I was recently camping in Tahoe. About 10 minutes after I arrived a large hawk landed on a dead tree branch not 25 feet away! By the time I got my camera out, he was gone.... I would have loved to have gotten a few off at such close quarters.

Wow! Excellent CDS! That is a great image. It seems as if they just posed for you. Every time you post, I want a 10D more and more.
Great photo!

Hi CDS,
I believe you are using your Sigma 50-500mm to take these. Recently I have added Kenko 2x TC to my sigma 50-500mm and it works fine. Except that when you will need bright lighting conditions for AF to work. Otherwise switch to MF and don't forget tripod and cable release.
Great pic by the way.
Regards,
Yason

I always wondered what caused you to go from the P&S world to the DSLR. As good a reason as any, I guess.
