I hope this isn't too out of place here. I am looking for a good scanner. I have alot of 35 mm negatives and slides, as well as a couple hundred 2 1/4 format negatives that I would like to be able to scan. I also would like to scan photos. Is there a good scanner out there that can handle all of these jobs at a reasonable price ( around $300 or less)? Or is there a service provider out there that offers these services (specifically, the 2 1/4 negatives) at a decent price?
Thanks for any help.

I would recommend the Canon Canoscan 9900F, period. The results I've gotten with it on old negatives, diapositives and prints are spectaclular. It comes with masks for negatives and slides.
There are some in depth online reviews on it, just don't remember where. Do a search.

Can anyone tell me where I might find some good reviews on the Canoscan 9900 and the Epson 3200. I have not been able to find much on them, let alone find them stocked somewhere locally where I could look at them.
The only review I'vd found so far said the canon software needed replacing and that scans were very slow. The review seemed to favor the Epson. Any other opinions here?

Look here

under Reviews/Scanners
Both the Canon and the Epson are reviewed side by side.
I chose the Canon and haven't regretted it one second.
